Student Council
The School Council at Al-Noor primary School plays an important role in the life of the school.
In annual elections, pupils vote for 2 school council members who they want to represent their class.
Elections are then held amongst the classes to allocate their chosen representative, 2 children are chosen on the basis of whom the pupils feel will be able to fulfill the role to the best of their ability.
The school council members lead class council meetings in which they discuss ideas and issues related to school events and school improvements. They bring their class feedback to school council meetings for discussion and action planning. SLT then takes action to improve/change the school to ensure the pupils' voice is heard.
Some of the ways in which school council members have supported school improvement have been by:
Liaising with the school meals providers to make some changes to the school menu,
Equipment has been ordered for play times to ensure the pupils enjoy their breaks,
Promote healthy ways to travel to school.
