Trip to RAF Hornchurch
'Today I went to RAF Hornchurch Heritage Centre. We explored different pieces of the Hurricane and Spitfire engines. We also got a chance to try out old-fashioned telephones and see a real life sized Anderson Shelter. We also packed our own suitcases in five minutes, just like some of the evacuees had to do during the war. Finally, we learnt about outdoor toilets and had our own air raid siren drill...it was quite noisy!!' Aila
' We had a fantastic time at the RAF Centre! My favourite part was when we packed our suitcases, just like children had to do during the war. We also got to dress up in a real pilot's uniform. We also went inside a replica Anderson Shelter. It gave us an insight into how people survived during the War' Jannah
